Sylvie Lambert
Synthesis of a kind of nature
In her paintings, Sylvie Lambert describes our way of life through a quirky and critical perspective using strong images, almost metaphor, where the boundaries between décor, reality, dream and fiction become entangled. Nourished by her own experiences, initially in Canada where she grew up, then in Switzerland, the subjects she addresses include habitats, food and artificial and disfigured nature. She paints in flamboyant colours which reinforce the ambiguity between real and false. Like word puzzles, her compositions combine unlikely elements in order to create surreal narratives with a message rooted in reality.
